heat control valve

:JEEPoes anyone have a pic of the spring on the heat control valve? Mine is missing and i think alot of my tuning problems result from the valve not working what do ya think? thank you.jeep toss

 

If no pics what type of spring would would work would be very helpful thanx

 

I take it we are talking about the 3 button push control unit that is mounted under the dash? If this is it then, any light spring with a slight pull will work. The spring puts tension downward on the locking bar. Nothing high tech.

 

Or are you talking about the heater control valve in the heater hose near the core?

 

The one i mean is the heat exchanger that goes between the muffler and where the exaust bolts to the exaust manifold.It suposed to open as the engine warms thanx

Thats the one mine just flaps.The spring goes on the side opp of the coil ? I wonder were i could find the spring that would work? With out this working properly wouldnt it be hard to get my motor to run right ? I know alot of questions i have the service manual and it tells what the function is for but i need the spring to put it back on thank you and any help is great

 

In the picture, it goes on the same side as the bimetal spring.
From the little post on the right to the larger shaft.
On my C101, it is on the side opp of the bimetal spring.
Differant versions/years?

 

Yes fsm is the first thing i bought but it didnt show the spring very well.I will call carl today thanks everyone i will let everyone know what i find out .
