Seat Belts

Discussion in 'Builds and Fabricators Forum' started by technologyteacher, Apr 12, 2010.

  1. Anyone have advice on mounting lap belts in a 57 CJ5 with an under seat tank? I'm wondering the best anchor points and anything else to help in the install.

There should be factory nut inserts. One each side on the front face of the wheel house, and two on the floor between the seats.

  3. In a perfect world there would be, However the floors were replaced some time ago.

then bolt them through the floor using a large washer on the bottom....the holes were on the raised part of the floor directly behind the edge of the seats

Seat belts were an option before 1966. I love when the po leece pulled me over in my 1963 Buick and tried to write me a ticket for no seat belt, until I told him this car was a 1963 and did not require seat belts as they were an option. Now my Buick did have the seat belts in it but it was way more fun to seee him not be able to do anything about it.
