i am giving this t/c every chance i can to NOT leak.
i used a product called THE RIGHT STUFF and am letting it cure overnight before filling the case.
    new seals everywhere etc.

Oh. I use 2wd low range too much to have it in there. I'd bet there aren't very many of these actually left installed.

i had to hire a buddy to take the t-case off and put it back on.
my bad back wasnt going to let me squirm around with 80lbs. on my chest.
the p-brakes innards were frozen with rust but the shoes and drum were in good shape.
i broke everything loose with p-blaster and got it all moving again.
i think it should work now.

    WARNING NOT INSPIRATIONAL!

    http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76237

many hours/dollars and 2 weeks later.
    it was a bust.
i am either going to have it towed $$$$$$ to a mechanic.$$$$$$$$
    or hire a mobile mechanic$$$$$$$
    hind sight is always 20/20.
but i wish i had driven it to a mechanic and had them rebuild my t-case.
i would have saved a bundle and it would have been done two weeks ago.
    live and learn .

simple stuff i am of course going to keep doing.
    but this kinda crap?
    never again.
give her a tune up and repack the wheel bearings?
    lemme at em.
    tear down a tranny?
    take it to a pro.
i dont mind being broke for my hobby.
but being pi$$ed off and throwing away all my weekends and any money i may have.
only to end up with a dead jeep isnt a hobby.
    it's a waste of time/money/energy

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

paying for knowldege isn't a bad thing, if he shows you what the problem was/is.
if he just buries you, then that's a different story.
You sound frustrated and it's showing; sometimes you just gotta walk away and clear your mind.
lots of good suggestions have been made since this thread started; folks here have the ability to talk you thru just about anything; but you have to be patient and sometimes listen to what they are saying, and learn along the way.
In the morning, we all put our pants on one leg at a time.

i will be at work when he shows up tomorrow.
this is the 2nd weekend in a row (plus 3 afternoons after work)
    i have spent on this.

and dont think for a minute i dont appreciate everything the generous, patient members have done for me this past year and a half.

    P.S.
frustrated isnt quite the word i would use right now.......
