What size bead roller die for rear floor???

Sorry it's taking so long to get pics up. I just used some round tube I had laying around to beef it up. It took care of 95% of the flex. Please excuse my bubble gum welds It will bead a piece of 16 gauge in one pass now

I plan to use a LOVEJOY coupling to hook the motor up to the bead roller.

Here's the mods to the roller, along with the tool stands I made.

 

That's a really cool setup, I may have to invest in this tool for my floors.

 

Looks like it's heavy duty and I like that you made it height adjustable and movable. Good job. Can't wait to see it finished with the electric motor installed. :stout:

 

I think I'll buy 2 more of those roller stands, since HF has a coupon book for them for $10 ea. Trouble is I turned in the coupon when I bought those 2, so I will need to try to find another.

I may actually attach those roller stands to the tool dolly itself. Just use a smaller version of the adjustable tubing.

 

I made my own roller stand a few years ago, way before they could be had for $10. An extra one could come in handy.

 

I got the motor in the mail today, and needless to say, I couldn't wait.... so off to Graingers I went to get a coupling for it. Got it all mounted, now I just have to do the electrical part.

I modified the coupler on the bead roller, by adding 2 extra screws to secure it, since it it has a 1 inch bore, and the shaft being metric, was a little smaller in diameter (.998).

2 foot switches and a coupler = $60

Actually it's a timer I had laying around. I will be using it as a relay, since I don't have a relay handy. I have to do that in order to reverse the rotation.

Motor specs from the auction. It is actually a faster RPM with no load. Maybe 9 RPM no load. If I have to I will put a speed controller on it. I'll have to test it and see how it goes. I guess I'm going through a lot of hassle just to roll a few beads for the Jeep

Right angle gear motor

They do make two way foot pedals, but being cheap like I am, I just bought two of these. $15 ea vs $100+ for a two way pedal. I will make something to mount these to.
