Well the Buick :v6: is back together.

I replaced the PCV, the valve cover gaskets, opened up the one valve cover breather's opening (after trickpatric mentioned his breather) and ran it to the air cleaner, and added the header gaskets

I warmed it up and ran a compression check. all 6 of the cylinders were basically the same ~145-149 psi. I have not gotten a chance to get the Jeep on the road yet, but hope to soon.

thanks for all of your help and experience!:beer::beer:

Were those compression readings with dry cylinders or with oil squirted in them?

Dry, I warmed the motor up for about 20 min before running the test per the directions on the test kit.

As far as I know the motor was rebuilt just a few thousand (and maybe 6 years) ago. I got it from a wrecked 84 Oldsmobile Cutless Supreme. It even has a nice GM rebuild plate on the side of the block with overbore rebuild data. the story goes that the rebuilt engine was installed just before the wreck that totaled the olds (Likely story???!!!???).

    Are these readings high?
