I did the underside of my jeep with por 15 but it hasnt seen a corrosive environment yet. However on my blazer where i layed a thin coat over rust it did come through and lasted just as long as regular paint would over rust. So i guess it needs to be layed on nice and thick to do what is claimed. I got a bunch of cans of rustoleum from a garage sale. theyre regular paint cans. But it works very good as undercoating or inside the tub. I think its probrobly for a metal roof or something. Seems nearly as good as por if layed on thick enough. For 5$ a can i cant complain anyway :)

Good to hear. I also used the Rustoleum on my snowplow right over some rust last spring and it is holding up well. Maybe I will just brush the bottom of the tub real thick after hitting it with the wire wheel.

I did a thick coat of primer then the rustoleum paint then a coat of spray can undercoating. i dont see why it wouldnt hold up for a good while

The new floor is in. I had a metal shop bend a nice 90 degree angle on a sheet for nothing. Now I have to buy the hat channel or make one. After the floor is complete I will move on to the drivers side lower panel and then its time for sanding. pics---

Have you done any work on the drivers side lower panel? Some pics would be great!

If you are down to bare metal, this stuff works VERY well for primer. Can not remember if I got it from ENCO, MSC, or McMaster-Carr but it is from one of the three.

Thanks for the info. I will look around here for some.

I have not started on the drivers side lower yet, it will be soon.

Hat channel is in and bottom is wire wheeled, read for some rust converter.

    pics.

If anyone has a pic of the support on the pass. side wheel house that goes inside the tub that would be great. I have one to put on but this JEEP never had one?

are those floors from classic ent? i have their floors on mine and love them. they fit perfectly that all it took was to lay it on and weld...

I made the floor and bought the hat channel from Classic. It looks good, however the holes that are in the hat channel are off about a half inch. I will drill new ones when the body is back on the frame.

oh yeah...i take it back...now i remember it wasn't so perfect. I had to drill new holes on mine also...

are you referring to this wheelhouse support? btw, this is from an early...not sure how different it is for an intermediate.

My tub is a early one. I need the pic of the top of the fender by the door. There is a brace that would make the side not flex. The pass side door hump if that helps.

My local FLAPS has Por15!. I will be getting this to do the underside and maybe the inside. Por15 has to be topcoated right away that is the only downfall I see. I did a lot of searching and I'm not going to spray bedliner in. Side panel should be done this week if the snow holds off...

nice thread! my cj had a glass tub when i got it but i just
put a floor in my waggy. it had por15 put on it 7 years ago.
not sure if stoped the rust that was there from progressing.
i decided to try a different route on the frame. i scrubbed the loose rust
off then put 3 coats of permatex rust convertor on then rustoleum paint. i dont know how the convertor works but it seems to turn rust into something nice and hard, not rust.

any one had experience with that stuff over time?

The lower panel is done and so is the rear. I wasn't going to do the rear but I got a little carried away with the grinder.
