Revisited; Clutch chain linkage pics

    Well it's finally installed and test driven. Converted my jeep to chain linkage for the clutch. Cost approx $44. Reduced pedal pressure to half of what is was. I thought the AA linkage kit wouldn't work for me with a PTO shaft running through the same area. I left the sprocket uncovered for now 'cause it's mounted on the lower side of my bracket. The hole setup is tucked way up out of the way of rocks and crapola that could bind it up. I used a new MB clutch cable-it's shorter than my removed cable. I used an 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum fabricated bracket instead of steel. Check out my pics at this link:

    Very neat. Made from parts? I'd think the materials would cost more than $4.

    Sorry, with the scrounging for parts it still came to $45. Even though $4 sounds better.

    Here we go! :beer:
    Parts list are as follows and can be suited to your application.
    18" of #40 roller chain
    (2) #40 masterlinks
    (1) 17 tooth sprocket assy(with bearing) avail at Tractor Supply Co. 1/2" mount hole.
    (2) AA connectors (connects chain to cable/rodend)AA p/n 716642
    (1) 5/16" rodend (avail at AA p/n 716641 or an aircraft supply company)
    (1) 4"x8"X 3/16" plate bent approx 45deg, size to your application.
    Grade 8 hardware to mount sprocket/bearing assy and to bolt bracket to frame.
    (1) MB Jeep clutch release cable (9.5" long) you can use your own removed cable, I had a PTO to work around.
    (2) 5/16"-18 threaded nuts for clutch adjustment.

    Several parts were purchased from AA at 800 350-2223. As replacements for their chain linkage kit p/n 716640. :beer:
