Another member is helping me with my tire carrier. I picked up a 6" piece of receiver tubing from the Industrial Metal Supply at lunch yesterday. Supposed to be for a 2" hitch. I tried to fit my U-haul brand ball mount in it last night and it doesn't fit. It almost could, but not quite. Is there something different I should be asking for?

My ball mount fits easily in my Class III Chrysler hitch on the Grand Cherokee.

Our Princess Auto (Harbor freight equivalent) sells the tubes already made up with the support piece on the end. I checked Harbor freight online and didn't see one but maybe they do carry them.

^ he has a point , also check to see if it burred to the inside alot of them need some finishing. Ive saw some in the bin that have looked llike they just cut them off with a chop saw and painted them black.

    mb82 I feel great!

Yeah not a whole lot of stuff is deburred before being sold I have found. Heck I ordered some steel not long ago and they shipped it to me with a big burr right on it. How hard is it to take a danged file to steel after you cut it?

It seems like the problems is with the corners. I did check to see if it needed deburring, but the cuts looked good. This was raw stock.
