12v generator/regulator wiring

    evanjm Yeah, it's got an F-head.

    Hey everyone,

    I'm trying to remember which terminals are which on my 12v generator that I'm putting back in my 2A.

    It has one terminal in the middle of the generator, that's a flathead screw--I'm assumming this is the ground. Then towards the rear of the generator there are 2 posts side by side. Which one is armature and field?

    If you look real close at area near each term post, they will have a stamped letter ind which is which. Usually the armature stud is bigger. If that doesnt work, you can look inside and find the wire going to the brushes (armature).
