brake bleed issues

i push the pedal about 5-6 times to the floor when bleeding the brakes.

just becareful with dot3/4 as it removes paint.

 

To bench bleed clamp the M/Cyl in a bench vise, hence the term, "bench bleeding", Replace the plug, or plugs, (the ones where the brake lines connect) with clear plastic lines and fittings. These used to come with new or rebuilt m/c's. I don't know if they still do.Take the cap off the m/c, loop the lines into the m/c chamber, fill the chamber with brake fluid and slowly move the piston by hand the full stroke. As you move the piston in and out you will see the air bubbles come up through the tube and go into the chamber. Keep doing this until no more air bubbles are detected. It's easy to do on a bench since you're standing up to do the work, but I suppose you could do it with it mounted in the jeep if you have enough room to maneuver.
