Had a little free time tonite

    So I started on a easy project , it would have been easier if I had more then scrap steel R) . I had to weld a couple pieces together .Id figure Id make a tire carrier Ive been planing . I spent about a hour on it tonite Hopfully if I get a hour or 2 tommrow Ill be able to finish it.

    Ive got a little more done then the pics let on , I got the center piece cut and the latching plate done .More to come tommrow nite hopfully.

    Well this is welding warm up , Im on call this weekend so I figured I would do this during the week for practice . This weekend Im going to weld all my Saggie stuff in place. ;)

    Allright. I need to practice a bit more with my welder before I tackle my steering mounts.

    Got home before 7 tonite so did a wee bit more before I had to get ready for church .
    Final mock up notice my gen/welder ,paid 900 bucks for it 10 years ago One of the best purchases I have made . 1000s of hours on her still going strong.

    I started on the gas can holder but it was dark and I didnt want to goof it up

    My latch , I need to do some cleaning

    So far I have 34 bucks for the latch ,3.49 for the pivot pin and 1.99 for the bushing for a total of 39.48 R) R) well that and 3 bucks in gas and about the same in welding rods.

    never did finish my jerry can holder , just need to drill holes for the mounting bolts and weld on the security straps . its c clamped on in the pic:rolleyes:

    I like the use of the wheel hub and bearings..has always made sense to me to have one on hand for emergencies.

    I thought so to , I also have a end cap to put on there too in case a lock out hub dies on me .

    The handle on the high lift does a little , but its not secured either . I need to buy a handle keeper for it . Ironically enough I had them in stock at the store I used to manage and never bought one. R)
