Are you triple towing? or do you mean a camper on top of your pickup?

FWIW - I had this approximate setup (I think anyway) at one point on Dutch. I added a spare tire mount to my tow bar, then it would sit on the rear drawbar, hinged at the bottom with a latch setup.

    I hated it.

The weight of the tire added to the towbar made getting setup to tow go from a 1-person 15 minute job to a two-person half hour job.

I'd much rather have a standard dedicated spare tire rack, and if you want the tow bar with you on the trail either use a folding towbar or setup your towbar to be fixed in the upright position.

    YMMV.

I've backed my Jeep and the naked rolling chassis into my garage several times, and it's a beee-yotch! Ain't no fun at all, but my driveway is sloped too much to push it. Think I might have bent one of the tie rods too, got one that has a bend that concerns me. Probably gonna replace it anyway.

Thanks for the input. I had figured on removing the spare and stowing it separately when using the towbar as a towbar. But doing a separate, dedicated spare mount might be the way to go. I just know, after some near misses backing into the garage, and having to find 80"wide openings on the trail, that the original side-mounted spare is NOT for me!
