Saw this recently in a camping magazine. Fun to look at but well beyond my needs.

Yep...very neat. For $15K I might be tempted to do something else with my money.

:iagree: Not to mention the fact that since I never can get a tent back into the bag it came in, it would be interesting to see what that would look like going down the road after my first couple of uses.:)

Yeah, if you can't get a tent back in the bag, you'd better stay away from that thing! Damn sure wouldn't want you packing my parachute either.

I think I could have found a better spot to set up that camper though.

That thing is way too busy. Too many things to go wrong. I like to keep it dirt road simple myself.

But a nice used MH wouldn't be able to get where a Jeep could pull this trailer too. That's the main attraction of these units, IMHO - being able to setup a well-supplied comfortable camp waaay off the beaten path. If you only used this in normal campgrounds it would be a total waste.

But for $15K you could setup a pretty nice Bantam or M416 as well.

Based on the ones we've seen on Ebay with the tent and other accessories, it seems $3-4K would be a good number if you really wanted something along these lines.

I agree these are very well put together, but the price seems crazy.

for 15k you could get a jeep, make it run decent, get a trailer, and a good sized tent and then have enough left over to go on a camping trip.

And maybe a nice used tow vehicle to get your JEEP to the mountains. ;) (based on what I have in my JEEP and trailer and tent)

Check this one out,, http://www.jumpingjacktrailers.com/ wife and I are considering one for camping/hunting. I know the Liberty can tow it, but it looks like it may be too large for a CJ-5 to tow (?)

I took an old trailer frame
from a small tent trailer I had worn out, but any small trailer will do.
on it I built a box from 3/4 plywood, CDX
box is 4x6 1/2 and 2 feet high
the inside is divided into 4 departments, one side of the box is a long department 2 feet wide, the other side is divided into 3 departments, 2x2, 2x2, and 2x2 1/2.
It has 2 2x4 hinged tops on either side and in the front a 4x 2 1/2 top.
I use it for when we are not pulling the camper or I go out tent camping by myself. (do a week long or better trip into the desert every year.)
It carries tent and all sleeping stuff for 2 in comfort in one compartment, more kitchen stuff than some kitchens in another, misc, supplies and lanterns in a third and the long department carries an easy-up and has room for 4 five gallon bottles, and a ice chest. A small fold out table and a set of fold out shelves.
When I am by myself I put an air mattress on top of it and sleep there, when the wife is along we set out a base camp style camp under th easy-up and live the life of Riley primitive camping. It pulls everywhere I have tried to pull it and the only bad side is it is not water proof so I throw a tarp over it in the winter or when rain approaches.

I looked at all the adventure trailer websites and had a fit about the amount of money the wanted, 3 grand for a base modle tentrax is way over priced for me. At an off road show I crawled over many brands and decided that they were not as convenient as they seemed for the price they were asking so I set off to do my own which may be a bit rough looking, but after a few days on trail, a lot of your buddies start to appreciate it more and more for what you can pull out of it.

    just a few thoughts
