How about grip tape? It always worked good on my skate boards.:)
You can get it at any hardware store.

How about that anti-slip stuff? Can't remember what it's called, but it's black and looks like sandpaper. It's used on ramps, steps, ladders, airplane wings and has an adhesive on the back, everybody's seen it. I bought some at Lowe's or Home Depot, think it was 3 or 4 inches wide and cheap. Put it on the ramp for my bike lift.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about - "grip tape" is what I call it.

the new grip tape isnt so bad as the old stuff that was like 60 grit. How many times i lost my figner tips trying to grab a board and it sliding from my hand taking my fingertips with them. Boy that just isnt a good feeling :(

As they say... it's all in the prep. If you have a clean surface it should last.
I've had it on my buggy pedals for years. And if it doesn'thold up, just replace it. It's cheap.:)

I swear I've seen rubber pads available for the early clutch/brake pedals, from several sources...am I nuts?

Not sure that is relavent to this discussion Ron. ;)

I had rubber covers on my pedals, FWIW.

You can get Duplicolor Bedliner in a rattle can from Walmart for $7.50 /can. I'm guessing thats cheaper than POR. Don't know about the grip tape.:v6:

If your pedals are like mine, it will have that diamond plate pattern on them. Mine were worn nearly off, so I to it to the MIG welder and gave each diamond a spot weld. I then applied black durabak bedliner to them. Didn't look as clean as I wanted, and the durabak is wearing off of the corners slightly, but I can have a shoe full of owl snot and not come off the pedal....

I saw somewhere that a guy had shot a couple of self-tapping screws into the pedals. Of course, this was on the later-style pedals with the rubber covering. If you have the all-metal style, it wouldn't work...

If you have a welder, you could also put a couple spots on each pedal. Heed the barefoot driving warning, though.

Well, if you kids want a real treat, try this: Dad wore caulk boots when we were out fishing one time and rather than change boots when we went to the next hole up the creek, he just left them on. Steel pedals and caulks? He said, "ready for a ride?" Hoo-boy!!! One slip in the wrong spot and we were learning new words. Took time to change boots after that experiment. Shorts, too.

Uh, what are "caulk boots"? That's a new one on me.

Oh. Sorry. Caulk boots have little "spikes" called caulks in the soles, like track shoes, only shorter. Keeps your feet under you when you dance on downed timber. Or any other fallen log, like near creeks where you hadn't oughta fall in. Dad's also had hobnails in them; like spikes only sorta dull. They were forbidden in the litle stores with wooden floors where loggers often stopped on the way in town...... They don't mix well with steel pedals.

You could always cut some expanded metal to the shape of the pedal and weld them on, some of the stuff is designed to be anti slip. I did this on my old cj pedals after the rubber pads kept coming off, and they worked great.

yep, expanded metal gets my vote... uglyjeep beat me to it.
