Here are the tailights i got from Ebay. These are the ones i want to pull the lenses to remove the "blackout" part on the red lens. I am going to pry the metal up so i can release the lens and modify it. I am leaning more to using red bulbs or LEDs in it, if i ruin the inside plastic part i am not so upset since i can use a colored bulb. Not a bad set. for bout $57 i won them for, they are brand new never used.

Nope too late, i am past the go back poit. i got the lens out, and i will indeed end up using color bulbs. it was not that hard, just a bit of work ith a hammer and punch.

Those are both right-side lights from a deuce or a 1-1/2-ton trailer. You'll be Ok with the red bulb or red LED idea, but you're going to need to open up those lenses to the diameter of the oval to get any light out of them. BTDT. Another option is to open up the cast frames and then visit a stained-glass place. They'll have little bits of red glass all over the place and may just cut you a couple of lenses for a song....

i was going to look at making the smaller oval be the running lights and the bottom be the brakes and turn signals. I really do not plan on using the thing at night, and fortunately it is BRIGHT yellow so that helps to get some attention ;) I have 2 other parts housings, i was looking at. but not much to them and not really usable except for 2 extra light sockets. Gonna paint them tomorrow and mount them up :)

Sometimes you can get them a little brighter if you paint the inside of the housing white or use a couple strips of reflective safety tape behind the sockets.
My M416 has the original lights and I haven't decided what I want to do with them. The Gamma Goat t-lights seem to be the direction I'm leaning though.

how do these mount up? are there mounting studs or something on the other side? I am using some Pep Boy's El Cheapo trailer lights on my Bantam, would like something more interesting back there.

The rear of the lights have 2 threaded holes. all you do is use the original brackets on an M416 and bolt them up, or if you do not have those brackets then bet some 1/4 flat stock about an nch and a half wide and bend it 90 degrees and bolt it on.
