Didn't want to hijack the other welding table thread, but feel free to add pics of your shop projects.

Built all this stuff last winter:

Did you say heavy? Welding table with a place for an old craftsman workbench to ride :)

The cart itself weighs over 100 lbs, but has a place for the welder and plasma cutter.

WOW, that's so much nicer than the cheesy cart that came with my welder. Very nice!

    Save cart pic as.... :D

Thank you very much. I just got a welder and one of my first projects after I learn to use it a bit is a cart. You woul dnot happen to have plans for it available would you?

    Very nice Chuck.

My personal opinion - the heavier the table, the better. There's no telling how many times you're going to need to clamp something down to it (or in a vise) and wail away with a BFH.

Buddy of mine had a table and vise so big that I had a Waggy D44 (housing and guts) clamped in it from the long side tube, and cut/pounded the spring pads off. It was a nice luxury.

I did some half assed drawings in visio, and then didn't follow them. It was build with a bunch of square tube that I had laying around, and some wheels from northern tool.

Couple more pics that might make it easier to see how it is built, I didn't take any pics until it was ready to paint. One change I plan to make is to make the push handle removable, so I don't have to lift the bottle over it.

Some bad pics of my little cart, constructed out of office worksurfaces (cheap around here) and 2x4's.

Use bigger wheels than I did.

Thanks for the pics. I can probably come up with something from them.

Mike, ff it works then there is nothing wrong with your cart.

Heck no - other than the small wheels hanging up on every power cord I still like it. It was cheap to build - and it tucks under my workbench when not in use (pretty much why I put up with the little bottle yet). The power outlet is esp. handy as it seems like when you're welding you're also angle grinding, bench grinding, and drilling....

That's a lot of stuff packed into that cart, cool idea.

Saw this design on the pirate bb and decided to make it outa pipe instead of angle iron. Drew it up in autocad to get the angles right. Oddly enough after bending it up and welding it together it actually came out square.R)

Used a few rollcage gussets for added effect and ridgidity. Wheels are from Harbor freight and they easily roll over air hoses and extension cords. Unfortunately they do leak over time. Otherwise its worked out great! Mounts my Miller 175 just perfect!

    Hi again friends!

Great forum topic! Here's the work bench I built for my garage a few years back. It was my first project I made with my model 3 bender. It has a 1/8" all steel top, over 90 feet of tubing, and nearly 25 linear feet of weld! I also grounded it with an eight foot ground rod through the garage floor, but that's because I'm an electrical engineering student who loves to tinker with voltage! Let's keep the shop pictures coming!
