2a Tire size

    neptco19 That guy....

    I'm needing new tires for the flattie (very badly) and I'm trying to figure out what will fit. It dosnt have any lift and the springs dont appear to be sagging to bad. Looking at some tsl's either 29x8.5 or 31x10.5. I have no idea what size is on it, they are re-caps that where put on by the previous owner and I didnt see any numbers (probably dry rotted off :rofl: ) Thanks for any help :beer:

    get a set of LTBs for it :) Probably be good to go with a set of 31's. my buddys flatfender years ago had 33 stuffed under it, would rub alot, but fit, so 31s should fit real good with no rubbing

    I like the LTB's but in 31's they are 11.50 :shock: . I would like to keep the tall skinny look. Plus it should be a little easier to turn the steering wheel when I'm sitting still. If I could find a 31x9.5 swamper I would prob. go with that.

    Looking for something like this Jason?

    These are 31x9.50 Swamper TSL Radials. They clear with stock springs, and a mild shackle lift. Billy is running 34x9.5 Swampers on Animal, but he also has a 2.5" lift on his.

    I think Brannon (M38Willys) is running 33's with no lift on his flattie.

    I would go with 31's.

    Steve that is exactly what I'm looking for. I may end up withjust the reg. TSL's though due to the price diff. What size wheel are those mounted on?? I was "planning" having the original ones sandblasted and powdercoated.

    Im running 34" LTBs that can work with just a 2.5 lift, but the front and rear will rub, and your engine will hate high range, even with 5.38s. I wanted to go with the tall skinny look at first as well, and I went with Buckshot Bias Ply Mudders. Check out National tire and wheel. Size P78. They measure I think around 32x9.5 or so. Awesome traction, awesome look, and you dont see them too often.

    Jason-

    The radials actually were about $10 bux per tire CHEAPER than the 32x9.50 Swamper TSL bias plys. I got them at National Tire & Wheel in Wheeling, WV, and they are on 15x6 rims.

    I was all proud of myself for thinking of just driving down to Wheeling (about and hour+) and picking them up, so I could save the shipping charges. Unfortunately, I ended up paying tax on them, since they weren't an out-of-state internet purchase. :rofl:

    I put these 32s on as a joke one day. I would rather use 31s. The 32s rubbed near full turn and these were brand new stock springs.

    I'm running plain old military NDT's on my flatty, and I'll probably stick with them out of habit, but I have to say those Swampers look great on yours!

    I am 90% sure that the rims are 7" wide with the standard back spacing. I got the rims at National Tire as well. The 12.5 wide tires are all too wide, and I didnt want that look. The 7" tires keep those narrows on real well, and I can run about 7-8lbs of air in it. Works well, let me know what you decide. post pics!!!!!!!!1
