WTB Looking For The Tailgate Mount For Tuxedo Park Rear License Plate Holder/light Assembly

Just need the tailgate mount

One of the harder to find Tux parts! Some ‘40s Willys Wagons used the hinging mount, but have different bolt spacing for the light. The very early wagons used a single red tail light, where the Tux used a small long chrome license light that is particularly hard to find in usable condition. Some late ‘50s Dodge panel vans used a similar license light (equally rare).
The Tux license light assembly was shared with the 2wd DJ3a Surreys, even more rare than Tuxes.

One of those things we didn't give a second thought to 40 years ago when we put a swing-away tire rack on. It might have been tossed, it might have been saved, until someone didn't know what it was, and then tossed it., 20 tears later.

Welcome from Michigan, Mine was a little Crusty, I found a Guy here in Detroit that silver soldered it all up and chromed it for me, looks new again. It was a little Pricy, but He did a nice job. He has a two year waiting list now,,,,,,,,,,,

 

A while back a member (Rory) found 2 NOS ones on eBay!! Crazy! The seller definitely didn’t know what he had!

Poor poor Tux! Has the bracket for the licence plate, but missing the chrome light housing!

 

Thats a ‘66, and not much Tux left.
