Certainly looks like a g503! Looks to have the D23-2 also.

Thank You John for posting some pictures.... I bought this because the sheetmetal is so solid and fairly complete,I rolled around underneath yesterday and it looks pretty good, has a F-134 motor and nobody cut the hood :),got it freed up and spinning with the starter, gotta work on getting it to make some fire, put some oil in the cylinders before rolling over by hand, what is the tailgate from, aftermarket ?Thanks for the interest, all comments welcome.....this is actually my wife's,I said look at this beauty, she said "are you buying it"I said no I won't be able to finish the projects I have now......Bang Zoom and away we go (as Jackie Gleason would say )

I can’t say I ever seen that tailgate before. Is it the regular width as CJs? It looks narrowed. I can see a weld joint on the top rolled edge, so suspect the whole gate is cut-down and the rear opening cut in/fabricated. Nice conversation piece though!

I'm with donny. Tailgate modified to fit a WW2 jeeps' nabbed tailgate opening. The wheel houses, at least on the driver side appear to be custom made as well. The one long tool box lid is a give away to that. Windshield is likely a 3A piece.

The tailgate does look like the center section was removed. Ribs and letters missing.

Something about that Jeep. I like it. It's very solid. Just can't figure out how someone modified the tailgate. That is a good job. Until I looked again, I wouldn't have noticed it had a modified tailgate.
I do like that Jeep. Looks like a great project.

Is it live or is it Memorex? Side by side tailgate differences.

OK, now I see. That was a pretty good job of fabrication. Took some out of the center. Just shrunk a little that's all. Lost an "ill". Looks like a pretty good job or using parts from different Jeeps and making them work together.
