I had a set of headers and they fit this chassis really well, so they are there to stay.

And I had a TJ brake booster and master which fit really well in the tight space.

Most importantly, it runs! I was unsure how good this carb was since it has been sitting for two years.

Those headers fit nicely. Coming along quickly(y).

Are the headers going to clear the front driveshaft?

They should. I had them in my 55 Chevy with a turbo 400 and np208.

I am also thinking about building this to run on E85. Should give good power, but bad milage, but I don't care about milage.

My friend sent me this on Facebook, a narrow track D44 with 4 link and coils for $200. I couldn’t pass that up. I think it will be perfect for the rear of this build. All home made stuff and it will fit right in.

Now that the CJ7 is out of the garage, I was able to bring in this fine unit and put the CJ7's old front axle and springs under it.

I got the rear axle in place. All the mounts are just tacked in so I could see how it looks. To be honest, it doesn't look all that bad. May have to finish making all the mounts and then I can move on to a rear driveshaft and brakes.
