Mine were grooved and military wrap front and rear.

I'm guessing there's not any chance of finding them reproduced that way. I may have a custom set made, I definitely need to replace my fronts

Was told by a local spring shop they're un-obtanium.

if a shop is used to making front springs for a front-shackle CJ5, how would I tell them to make the springs for a rear-shackle CJ5 so that it keeps a stock-ish ride height. Front shackle springs on a rear shackle will be pretty low, right? Tell them to make it 3" taller?

The 809xxx are showing the part number designated for those individual leafs.
I believe they belong to the complete front leaf assembly designated as # 809269.
809269 is the heavy duty (not standard) front leaf assembly for an early 5/6 with reversed shackles.

Hmm , I’ve gotta check my ‘56 serial # 57548-29xxx, when I’m beside it in a couple weeks. It’s a reverse shackle, and the frame # matches the original serial # aluminum firewall tag. I think that means built approx. Feb ‘56?
At any rate, I have not examined these specific spring specs. Any advice would help me get proper info, Thanks

    Front leaf count.
    Rear leaf count.
    Individual leaf thickness.
    Pic of leaf would help.
    Eaton or Mather ?
