What is a good top mount windshield wiper motor for a 62 CJ5? I would like something with more than 90 degrees. Thanks!

There should be old posts about this. IIRC the best motors are for boats. Good but not cheap.

I assume you are asking about electric wipers? Your originals were vacuum wipers, with the vacuum supplied by the original fuel pump.
For electric wipers, look at marine wipers. There are some with as much as 120 degree sweep, maybe more.

I put Marine wipers on my Jeep, on the bottom, had to have 3" shafts to go through the defrosters, I had to weld wedges on the dash to make them square to the glass.

I use wood blocks on my top mount wipers.
I got the cheap wipers. I try not to drive in the rain and use a good coat of Rain-X . I've been caught a couple times but my plan is working well so far.

Most of the electric wiper motors they sell for Jeeps are junk, but as others have said there are some good ones for marine applications.

The vacuum wipers original to my CJ5 need a rebuild, they would only make one pass then stop, push and pull on the "switch" and they would make one pass the other direction.

I had some NOS military surplus wipers for the M-151 which I installed on the old gal. These don't have a valve/switch at the motor, but a single valve on the dash will operate them. I do have the dual action fuel/vacuum pump on this Jeep, and the wipers work fine for my use.

I bought an electric wiper motor for a Polaris ATV thinking it might be better than the run-of-mill electric motors. Wouldn't be hard to adapt this to the Jeep windshield, but I have yet to find a way to adapt the Jeep wiper blade to it, so used the M-151 wipers instead.

On my 3a, I found that anything with much more than a 90° travel will require a smaller blade to keep it from riding up on the windshield seal. A 5’s surface area might be bigger, but not by much.

    Look around in here.

These are the ones I went with, and they are great so far.

I just bought new wipers and motor set from walcks got them yesterday put them on and they work great 90 degrees and they go from one side of of windshield top to the other. Youll have to cut the shaft for top insallation. Pull back cover off pull shaft off cut threaded shaft 15/8 and the longer one, smooth shaft 23/8. It works great

You could just drive with the windshield down.

Who says it needs to be sunny with the windshield down? That's why they invented goggles

    Yep. Tear away goggles------

I went with a CJ 5ish low mount wiper system in my 3B using a Toyota motor. I slotted all the "crank" arms so the sweep is infinitely adjustable on both arms independently. It actually works really well to get the maximum sweep coverage on both sides.
