Where can I purchase Dauntless exhaust manifold bolt plate locks? Internet reveals that exhaust manifold bolt plate locks are readily available, BUT I have not uncovered any for a Dauntless or any Buick V6 for that matter. The 1967 Parts list indicates a part number of 1358803. An Internet search reveals no hits.

I've never had such bolt locks on my Dauntless and never had a problem with them loosening.
    I'm curious to others experience!

I have a 198 without bolt locks and no issues here.

Looking at images online, it seems like it would be pretty easy to make some locks using sheet metal.

You may not have an issue without them, but the factory put them there for a reason. And since I'm nutty when it comes to factory equipment, I'm interested in installing them. It certainly can't hurt.

Re-constituting this thread...what the heck. My Factory Parts manual doesn't show them for the 225 that I can see per the attached schematic but the attached picture (not sure where I got it/pretty sure this forum) has them installed. Perhaps the owner of this rig can enlighten us? Unique shape required is shown. Probably only good for one or two times then need to be replaced. Definitely cool little period "accessory", just not certain if original or not, but I like em.

If you really want the metal lock tabs, the early-mid 90’s Land Rovers used the same part. The 3.9/4.0 alloy V8 engines are closely related to the ‘60s Buick engines. Look up part# for the Discovery/Defender/Range Rover from around 1995.

That’s my rig. I just cleaned up and reinstalled what was there.
