Does anyone have a source (not KW) for the bolts that attach the radiator to the grille? I misplaced one and I do not want to pay almost 17 bucks for one screw and clip (KW price plus shipping). Maybe anyone has a reference number from your FLAPS? I do not care much for having the "original parts" but if I can stick to the one that matches the other three it will be better. Thanks!

Sorry no dice. Both the spare radiator / grill sets I have are just held together with bolts and nuts.

Trip, Do you have a Mom & Pop Hardware store in your area ? They should have both of these.

Thanks! I could do that and place the odd one at the bottom. But I appreciate the help.

We had a good one but the owner retired and nobody took over. There is an Ace that has a good selection, I might try it tomorrow. Thanks!

1960s Mopar cars used these too. I haven't seen any in the U-pull yards for a while. You might expand your search beyond KW to Mopar speciallists, or find an old school NAPA or other supply that has Dorman specialty fastners.

Update: I got my "it is really not that important" hat on and put the originals on the two top places and regular bolts and nuts in the bottom and guess what? I works awesome and that is that! Thanks to all for the help!

Yeah.......I often try to " Reinvent the wheel " . I hope I learn , someday, that I typically just create wayyyyyyy more work for myself than is needed.

If you look in the drawers at Lowes or HD you should find flanged bolts with a similar appearing head to the ones you have. You'll then need a clip nut with the same thread or compatible thread to the flanged bolts you found. They won't be exactly the same, but they should look mostly the same from the engine side. McMaster-Carr has this stuff, but the minimum quantities will be too many. McMaster-Carr calls what you have a tapping thread.

I would guess the reason these are there - rather than regular thread bolts - is to make the alignment of the bolt easy on the assembly line. A real bolt with a USS or SAE thread would be better.

NB IME there's a lot of difference in the condition of these hardware drawers from store to store, so try a different store if you can't find what you need. You should also find these parts at your local Ace hardware.

The Bolts and clips are different from most that you find at normal places, they are a more course thread than most everything I have seen. I know and wondered where to find them if you needed them, they are like a speed nut and bolt. Just saying.

Technically, the bolt pictured isn't exactly correct either. The proper bolt has what looks like Acme threads; very "squared" off threads. There was a mom & pop supply in Norfolk that used to carry these, American Maintenance. I think their daughter took over about 10 years ago. I hope they're still open. Ron (Twin2) I know used to go there.
I'll have to swing by next time I'm up that way.

My clips are long gone - is there any overwhelming detriment to wearing the same "does it really matter?" hat as Tripilio and just using a 5/16" grade 5 bolt and nylock washer?

None in my opinion. I wanted to have them all the same but not necessarily the factory ones. I was pissed because I think I had all four when I disassembled the car. I like uniformity but all the mods I have done invalidates any desire of having the " right" parts. Just my opinion.
