SO before I did the full tear down and rebuilt of my CJ the power steering worked VERY well. It just leaked out of the reservoir and pump shaft seal. I did a full reseal of the pump a few months ago. fast forward to today and I pull it out for it's maiden voyage and have no power steering at all.

I'm open to ideas on what I did wrong. I fully tore down the pump and it was my first Saginaw pump to rebuild so there's a good chance I put something in backwards or the wrong way. We drove it around the property quite a bit today total probably about an hour and it never got better. I don't think it's an air problem. Is it possible to put the pressure valve in backwards?

Did you bleed it? Jack the front up and run it lock to lock slowly while its running.

Yes. And there is a small leak from the steering input shaft but not a while reservoir worth.

Im going to pull the pump off this morning and check the pressure valve cause i feel like i may have put that in there backwards.
