    Say that 3x fast.

My spare tire carrier is bolted to the tailgate top Chain bracket. I really like that it adds lots of stability to the carrier but it’s a PITA to get into the bed.

I’d like to replace the bolts with some kind of small easy clamp. Got any ideas?

that would be quick and easy. I’m afraid it would rattle a bit and not as secure as I’m looking for.

You could use a thumb screw/bolt and wing nut...wouldn't require any tools to tighten or loosen....

Wing nut would make things quicker/simpler.

I assume your tire carrier hinges downward - or does it swing out to the side? In either case, you have a hex bolt and nut holding it through the chain hanger bracket it looks like. So, the easier it is to remove that bolt, the easier it is to swing it out or drop it down....no tools like a wrench make it easier....but I guess you might be looking for something like a spring loaded gate pin.

I used one on my tire carrier to hold it in an open position -until I broke it (my fault). My only concern would be how tightly it would hold it in the closed position - you might get some rattle.

I don't know where you would put it for your application, but I use these on most swing-out carriers I have ever built and they work great.

now we’re getting somewhere! The cam type would be quick and easy if it fit in there well.

    and a little different angle.

Its important to get the cam handle the way you want it,right tension and position, before you weld the nut on the back.
