    Hello all,

For those of you, or at least knowledge of, that have tow bars on their rigs at all times how do you keep them up and ensure they don’t fall down during driving?

I’m getting ready to fabricate mine on and wasn’t sure about that part.
    Thanks.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

Only put mine on when towing, although the mounts are always on the front bumper.
Generally not a good idea to leave it on while driving.
Some local and state laws won't allow stickup above the hood.
That's just my opinion and observations.

Mine has a hole drilled in the bracket in which I put a pin that keeps it from falling.

I have that, plus my safety chain for towing hooked to the winch mount.

There are a few ideas here...

    stupid question on tow bars.

Mine has a tab that lines up with the bar. I use a modified hitch lock that I cut and welded to fit snug.

I am another one that just removes the tow bar from the brackets that are 'permanently' bolted to the front bumper. Its two small 'hitch' pins that slide right out - takes all of 30 sec.

My tow bar is "V shaped". It won't stand up vertical.
