Cj 7 Body

Here is a pic of a jeep that my brother is working on. It is a extended cj5, now to be a 79 cj7. He purchased a repop body rather than try to repair and lengthen the original body.
He is planning to buy a Bestop Supertop when its ready for that step. Question is, how does the top attach to this style body? I've only fooled with older jeeps. Does the rail/hardware attach to this small flat surface on top or ?? Is this tapered top edge normal for a cj7?
Any help appreciated.
And I know its not an intermediate, but it is a Jeep.

That looks like the top of the tub on the two '80's CJ7's that I had.

The soft top kit has rails that bolt to the tub and secure the top. There's a lip on the rail and a flap on the top that tucks under the lip.

 

OK that would be similar to the top on my cj5. I just didn't know enough about the cj7's to remember the top of the tub tapered off like that.

Here’s a picture of the Bestop rail attached to the top of the tub. The rail has bends that match the angles in the tub.
