82, J10, 360, 727, 3.55s, With 32s. Will It Survive A 450hp 401?

    Crashed my 401 gremlin.
    Thinking bout 401 in J10?
    Don't wang to start breaking crap?
    Opinions?

    You can always break it if you try hard enough.

    I'm running the same basic drivetrain behind a 420 hp LS in my CJ5. Your 401 will make more bottom end torque.
    SM465, Dana 18, J10 Dana 44s front and rear. It'll hold as long as you aren't crazy with it.

    401's came in those pickups, so no reason why it would be a problem.

    Mines a 727, with dana 44s, my concern was the T-case strength?

    Np208 need any special attention ? Has bout 65K miles!

    NP208s came behind big blocks in Ford/Chevy 3/4 & 1 ton trucks. I would think it would be fine.

    Recommend me a good floor ratchet shifter for a J10.
    Or is their a 2 stick, 1 for trans, 1 for T-case that would work?
