    ITLKSEZ Hope for the best, prepare for the worst

    I’ve seen instructions that came with them that instruct you to trim them. They just ship generic lengths and leave it up to you. Don’t recall brands. I used a sanding block to get them square.

    red61cj5 Just fell off the turnip truck!

    The cap does not fit over the dowels, they fit between the cap and block, I don't see how they can compress them.

    There is a joint between the cap and the block. There are holes that are half in the cap and half in the block that the rubber dowels fit down into and stand proud of.
    When you tighten the pan down on the mating surface the dowels are compressed.
