    Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade the brakes on my M38A1. The Jeep currently has original axles and 9" drums. The wheels I have are original style 16x4.5" reproductions from Omix Ada. Shown here:

Can I fit 11" drums in these wheels? I was looking at the kit from Herm and he has a disclaimer that they might not fit original style wheels. Any information is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ken

I got some emails back from sellers. Herm said his kit won't fit my wheels. Willys Jeep Parts said theirs will fit. They must be selling different style drums?

Pretty sure the 16 “ rims will for both the finned or smooth drums but the 15” will only fit the smooth.

I run finned with 16", lots of clearance.

Is that with factory style steel wheels?

If you can get them on there you won't be sorry. I had that done to my CJ and it's almost like it has power brakes on it now. If you plan on going through a lot of water you might want discs, but otherwise the 11's are far better than the original 9's.
