    hello guys.

question for a cross reference number for a radiator...
Forward control radiators are unique to the FC model. shares the same drive train as the CJ5, but radiator is different.
i bought 2 used ones and both leak. so, i bought a new one, but it was super expensive, in my opinion. ($600.00).
one of the radiators is Modine MFG out of racine. i reached out to them, they said they only sell to the big guys, not to individuals, and i need to contact the OEM to order the right cooling part. i explained that is wasnt an option, they told me to go pound sand.

any way to cross reference the numbers?

    Modine MFG, model 1A-5732DP9

i googled the daylights out of it, cant find anything. anybody have any dusty old books laying around? if we can save another jeeper a few hundred bucks, i think its worth digging into.

you paid as much as it would cost to recore around here . somewhere in range of 400 - 600
but we only have two radiator shops that still do that type of work
last one I had redone was a radiator out of 41 olds . it was 470

Why do I keep seeing Aluminum Radiators for Jeeps for under $200.00 on E Bay? I got my copper radiator redone in 07 for under $200.00, it must have gone up a lot as more old school shops closed.

I just bought a new one from Walck's for my wagon, $595. Top tank start developing pin holes so wasn't even going to think about trying to fix it. Everything has gotten expensive, no other way to say it.

For clarification I mean my old radiator tank started leaking.

Back to the FC radiators, there are at least two radiators depending on early and late. The narrow-track 150 had a different shape radiator than the wide-track. The whole center tunnel and heater area is different between the models too.

both are on top, hence the scarcity of this radiator.
not much to see. its blocked from sight pretty well.

now that one has me baffled  inlet suction so high
unless it has something to do with overflow tank above engine

Must have a divider in the center of the upper tank?

dont know what the means.....coolant goes in one side and out the other. 'bout as much as i know about radiators.

It must have a divider by the outlet and the upper tank would have to be full for it to have good flow, thus the overflow tank you mentioned.

Some foreign car radiators are like this. If it has a divider inside the center of the upper tank, the coolant runs through one half, switches sides in the bottom tank, then comes up through the other half. Basically one long, skinny radiator folded in half.
