so Im putting a dauntless in a 2A frame so I have to build the frame side mounts. So to keep things simple, Im utilizing stock motor based mounts. There is a 3/8" though bolt then a funky 'tab' hanging out in space. This I presume keep things from separating completely if the runner degrades. On a factory setup, do the frame sides pointed tabs rest on anything or is are they out in space allowed to flex and move.

another way of asking this, does all of the torque and weight of the motor rest solely on the bolts? the little tabs on the motor mounts seen woefully thin.

No just the 2 bolts into the block. I guess the rubber is "vulcanized" or something. The metal tab is a safety tab in case of a failure. While they look identical there is a drivers/ passenger side. If your putting a custom setup together have a look at the Novak mounts, they offer a lot of flexibility for drivetrain placement. And welcome to the forum, we like pictures.
