I have a tiger top. Lots of snaps, the doors are kind of a pain to take off. If I were to do it again, super top. However if going for a factory look, I would go with the tiger top.

Ive had both. I like that all the windows unzip on the supertop. The rails make removal and installation easier. I prefer the looks as well, but the tiger top looks more period correct and is much easier to keep clean.

Supertop. No snaps, and if your tub already has snaps they wont line up anyhow. Neither are accurate reproductions, and Tiger is closer to OEM only in its lack of features.

Yes, totally authentic. It's c**p, just like the original!

Actually, I have a Tiger Top for my CJ-6, but mostly because that's all that's available today. You need the hottest day of the year to install it according to the instructions, and there is some fitting and coaxing needed. I've never owned a Jeep with the rail system (Super Top); would be interested to see one up close.

I have a tiger top, approximately 10 years old. It's fitment is very poor. My top goes on in fall, then off in spring, so just 1 cycle per year. If I was going to put it on and off routinely I would definitely want a super top.

Super Top here with the shiny finish like Lockman’s. It’s about 11 years old now and still looks pretty good.

I am not the biggest fan of how the denim supertop looks at least on mine

Think so. A quick search brought up nothing but Bestop.

I'm love the versatility of the Supertop! Just look at the pcitures Lockman posted...so many configurations!
In the summer, I run mine with the top folded down and the lower 1/2 doors on. The rear and side windows are safely stored in the garage (rolled up side windows on a folded down top get scratched up quickly). I stow the upper doors behind the rear seat, protected in old flannel pillow cases. If it rains, the top comes up, the upper doors go on and we can stay reasonably dry & warm.

Bestop Supertop here too. Nice that you can also split the doors, so you have a half door.

I scored a brand new in the box 50th anniversary super top NIB for $500 on Craigslist and it fits great. I like the ability to remove all doors and windows to run the safari top only. I sold the used tiger top that came on my Jeep for $400. I like the mounting and versatility of the super top way better.

Mines 18 years old , but has not seen much bad weather. I try to keep it clean. The top is great.
Btw, I have the same tranny as you , but in my '75 CJ5. How's it been for you & what year ?

    My 700R4 has been great!
I pulled it out of a 1990 Chevy Blazer at the salvage yard about 20 years ago and installed it behind the 4.3 without even rebuilding it. At the time the fluid looked pretty good so I just stuck her in. Two years ago after 18 years of faithful service and about 100,000 miles I pulled it out and had it rebuild. It was still working fine I just felt after so many years it was likely ready.
