After studying the Novak Research clutch info I know the importance of the clutch fork RATO in setting up a clutch system. They say one should always try to match the ratio that was originally in the vehicle. So here is my question: What is the ratio of the clutch fork for a Dauntless with a T86 or T60j transmission. I see several suppliers saying their fork will fit the V6 but they don't say what the RATIO is?? I have 3 forks that will fit but with different ratios. I understand all the math and clearances, etc, just don't know the RATO for my application. I have looked but no luck.

    Thanks!!

The ratio will affect pedal feel, it’s simply a lever the ratio is the leverage basically. I’m sure someone more articulate than I can say it better

If you have the original parts............measure them..........normal mechanical ratio for a clutch pedal is about 5.5-6:1............but when it gets to the throw-out fork that ratio normally changes to about 2:1.........If it's greater..... that requires more movement at the tip which equals less travel at the bearing due to space...........Hydraulic clutch systems are a little more temperamental as the slave needs at least 1.00" to 1.50" of travel to net 1/2 that amount of throw out bearing travel + freeplay........( .500 to .750").......Tricky but doable as long as you maintain what you need along the path in either the mechanical since or in bore size and stroke on the hydraulic side...........Novak does have the best slave......and they also sell a neat adjustable throughout bering collar....
