Was in my 73 Super Jeep, but not chromed. Older? Later? Renegade?

I'd say older. I was there, and the '73s had chrome bezels. This was one of the notable differences in the '73s, as well as the heater controls, clutch linkage, and carburetor spring. And the availability of the solid back panel and gauges on the regular option list. And the premier of Fairway Green.

No difference in this area between the Ren and the regular production Jeeps in the '73 model year. They used the same instruments and controls.

My guess is that is was chromed originally, but has corroded.

No trace of chrome, but there is some remaining black paint.
