64 Cj5, I need to replace brake pedal arm and probably the shaft as well. I know the best for the arm would be re-bore and bush.
The question is, where would you buy the best parts. I'm not a big Omix-a fan. I would like to get it fixed
in a fairly short time. Don"t have a machine shop local.
    Thanks

If you decide to get the brake arm re-bushed, do yourself a favor, and send a message to ECJ5 member mcruff. He is a machinist who has re-bushed many for folks on this site, and offers quick turn-around via USPS. Mcruff has a well-earned excellent reputation. Here's a brake arm he did for me:

Re. the clutch-brake cross shaft, I agree with mickeykelley that Walcks is a good source. Wherever you get one, just try to make sure it has been properly hardened during manufacturing.

I couldn't get the reproduction brake pedal to work on my 225 V6, don't remember why.

Had two: one from Walcks and one from Kaiser-Willys, both were the same.

I ended up re-bushing my original.

I looked at the cost of the NOS vs having mcruff doing it and decided I'd keep my original and have him do it. It's headed to him soon.

Pretty sure all the aftermarket sellers are just selling re-packaged Omix or Crown parts.

Chuck that arm to someone who needs it and make your new one hang, and connect it to a booster (y)

Just received the new cross arm and NOS brake pedal arm.. It has the part number casted in it just like the old one. Be back on "the road again" in
another hour. It came from Walcks.. Now in 50 years I will have a spare to send Mcruff to re-bush and won't be grounded for a couple of weeks....

OR....send it now, so that way you have a new spare sitting on the shelf ready to go, in 50 years.
