Anyone know of a source for a cover for a CJ that doesn't have a top on it ? All the covers I see out there are for jeeps with tops

Not sure how you'd make that work. You'd need something inside the Jeep to prop up the cover and keep it from becoming a swimming pool. If you are keeping the Jeep under a car port or something, you can buy generic covers cheaply. Costco has them sometimes. I have found that even the fitted covers don't stay ion very well unless you add some extra cordage or bungies to secure them. I use a Jeepster Commando cover for my CJ-6, and it fits pretty well - but I store it with the top on, and add bungies around the front bumper and to hold down the back.

I used to have a cover on my Tux when it sat outside, mostly to prevent fading while I worked on another project. I bought a generic mid grade cover from O'Reilly. Tim is right. Water does pool and freeze. I had a bikini top and roll bar and it pooled all over. Later I put the safari top back on and that was a little stronger. Be careful to watch for scuffing on your paint. They are soft on the inside but over time I noticed stuffing from the wind. It's amazing how much wind they pick up.

I use a VW beetle cover , fits s pretty well. I drop the tailgate to prevent water pooling in the back.

I purchased a canvas tarp from chicago canvas online. Forget the size, around 14x12 I think. I used it for the winter, I was rebuilding a scag zero turn and did not have space for the jeep in my garage. With a roll bar and the windshield down on the hood, bungeed tight I had minimal pooling. The only problem was a little mold started growing, but I think that happens with any cover.

I used to just fold the windshield and tie a blue tarp over it----

There’s people on YT that modify and strengthen the Harbor Freight version of that (portable garage).

There’s some girl on there too, Hannah’s Bug, who does the same.
Seems like reinforcing it is the way to go.
