    I like it.

But, the shelf above the blast cabinet makes me want to count to 20 backwards. o_O

Nope... no forklift. Just one guy on a ladder who’s gluten for punishment and too cheap to pay to have a professional do things, and my buddy on the other ladder.

You know you have a small garage when you move the jeep to get to the tools, and you put the tools away to get the jeep out of the rain.

Or when you crawl out through the jeep to get to spray paint on shelf.

The carport is nearly done. It’ll need more bracing but I’m ready for an inspection and I’d like to hear it straight from the horses mouth as far as exactly what they want to see.

... and then it started raining. Roof panels are on their way for the carport. Really need to wrap up the rest of the siding next.

With the roof pitched to the rear it creates a triangle which is good, If you run stringers tying the base of posts together a foot up or so just above the brackets along the sides it will help the Triangle. Even better run stringers and side the last section on the outside. You could also add a diagonal brace from the top of the rear posts to the base of the next set of posts. I'd half lap then in and timber-lock them. Looks great.

That carport is great and the beams seem strong enough to use as a gantry.

Nice Job & call on the design & slope of the carport !

My brother and I got the carport roof on. I’ll need to figure some trim for filling space between the carport and the shed. Otherwise I suppose it’s doing its job. The rest of the siding was finished up too. Need to wrap up the doors, just a little more on the carport, and the exterior will be done.

He also surprised me with a long running joke between us. I’ve got a thing for “garage eagles” and he recently bought a house that was beautifully adorned with this creature but didn’t care for it.

    Perfect!

Calling in for my final inspection this week.

Suppose my two typical camera angles since the beginning won’t change now that I’m changing gears to electrical and finishing the interior.

I dig the panels you came up with for your barn doors . A lot lighter weight vinyl, I presume ? ........& oh Yeah, The Eagle is a great touch also.

The panels are actually cheap 5/16” siding panels that come in 4x8 sheets. They’re fairly light weight. I added additional bracing on the inside of the doors, insulated, and finished the insides already too. Admittedly, the doors ended up being a bit heavy but I love them. They have just the right feel in the swing when opening and closing them.

I caught myself cleaning up the interior today and I felt this huge wave of feeling proud of this little shed. My plan is to continue the old timey feel of the exterior to the inside. I’ve had a somewhat industrial feel to my two previous shops. This time around I’d really like to give it an old service station type atmosphere.
