I've read about the clearance issues with disc brakes and stock wheels. I'm curious to see what some of you have...What you found to work and how you did it?

This is an example of the type of wheels and tires I'd like to have. I found this image from Google.

The Jeep in my sig had clearance issues in 15s. I sheared the heads on the retainer bolts off. I found very flat counter sunk-kinda head screws to fit in place after the swearing and welding fest got the old ones out. I think I have enough gap. It's REALLY close. I would avoid 15s if you have your eyes on late 70s CJ5 style brakes. I run 79, 2 bolt setup on my NT D30. Perhaps a TON of dish in the wheels can work too, but I wanted the tucked look.

I have disc brakes. I'd like to run wheels that are more stock in appearance and with the tall skinny tires.

That is a good look I'm interested to see what others say. My 55 has those pizza cutter tires, I.e. Small and narrow. intersting, that red jeep has a motorcycle rack on the front bumper.

Look at my profile photo, I have 4 wheel disc, the front axle is a dana 30, the rear are geo tracker/sidekick disc if I remember correctly. The rims are slightly wider than typical CJ rims but 15". 30x9.50r15

What you need are the plain steel wheels from 76-86 era CJs. They look very similar and clear disc brakes and 11" drum conversions. That's what I'm running in my avatar pic.

Just FYI, that's the wrong bolt pattern for a Jeep.
I'm sure they have the correct wheel, but don't order that part #

Yeah that is the wrong everything. It was just meant to be shown that the style is offered.

I would recommend figuring out 15 or 16 inch rim, back spacing, number of lugnuts and spacing for lug nuts
