I was wondering if anyone has put a cot on the passenger side of their jeep since the passenger seat comes out easily? I measured the length from the tailgate to the dashboard and it is 5' 10" which I could lay down in no problem, I'm 6' 1".

Anyways, I was thinking of making a collapsable framework that is higher than the wheel well. Obviously, the antique fire extinguisher and chainsaw vice would have to move.

I can tell you that anything would be better than being curled up in a ball in the bed of a jeep.

Seems like I have seen old pictures like that. Old rescue Jeeps?

I've seen pictures of stretchers across the backs of MBs in WWII.

As a 16/17 year old kid, yes, I did sleep in my CJ2A, just as you propose. Little fazed me back in those days- far more testosterone than common sense. Still, sleeping in that jeep was one of my lousier ideas.

Now if you drop the tailgate, pad things up nicely and drink heavily before turning in, I think you could make it work. But forget any idea of things being comfortable.
