Roll Bar Mounting Cj3a

Searched through previous postings. There were some measurements for proper placement. But I couldn't find anything specifically for the 3a. Not sure if the 2a is the same as well. I want to be able to use a soft top, so I want to make sure it's not too tall. Does anyone have the measurements for placement. Probably from the front of the hoop to some point towards the back. Also, from the fender well to the top or bottom of the hoop. Whatever you can give me. It's in pieces, so I can put it togeather anyway I want. No rush, I won't be working on it again until September. Thanks in advance.

I do not know if this helps you at all but I measured two different roll bars last week they were both 33 inches from the top of the fender well to the top of the hoop. These bars were both from cj5s.

I emailed extreme customs about mounting. They are real vague. Only told me not to go more than an inch above windshield height, in order to fit soft top. I assume that is for front and rear hoop? I found a Best Top on Craig's list. Does anyone have experience mounting one with a cage. Any issues?

I used the forward top bow and a straight edge off the windshield to gauge height and placement. Didn't go any higher than the windshield.
