Yeah, this Commando is pretty far gone from years of Iowa winters. Every body panel seemed to have more holes than metal remaining.
On a sad note, I'm looking to sell the postal Jeep to see make room in our single stall garage.
On a positive, the Commando was so cool though that my wife decided I should get it and rebuild it - called the seller today and arranged for him to deliver it this week. I'll be looking to build my skills with bodywork soon!

Skidded some nice cherry logs the power line company cut down near our road. Took some creative winching but got a nice load of logs on the trailer now. Got stuck once but winched out.

I put on the second pair of Firestone P205/75R15 Destination AT tires (with tubes) on the rear of my '66 CJ5. The first pair, for the front, installed last April, much earlier in my restoration project.

I like the tread look: good for city roads yet macho enough for off road and snow.

IMG_0300.JPG This is what I did today. I heard a squeak in the fender last summer, and this is where I wound up today. Project creep....fixing what the PO didn't do right.

Today I received new grille welting and clips from Restoration Specialties. The products I received are really nice and of high quality. I received exactly what I needed quickly. No issues dealing with them again.

Thank You to Wirework and Navy Joe Ret. for the lead and Tarry99 for the generous offer of extra clips.
