And on a beautiful 59° Sunday the end result is this. For the first time in 30 years, under it's own power. I think it's a 3 beer night..

It's been on the gravel pile since the vid :cool:front driveshaft not necessary. Lunchbox locker works great, so does the power steering. Best of all I redid the output seals and it hasn't marked it's territory. Yet....

Good deal, Rich. Happy for your success. It's been a long time coming. Can't wait to see it in person.

Thanks guys. I'm actually sleeping a little now. Best friend has a fab shop in Stevensville, 20' of 1-3/4 Dom there waiting on me. Trailering it down in a couple weeks to add the seat supports to the cage. Have a pair of Corbeau seats and 4pt retractable harness to install.

I brought the dampener to the machine shop for him to balance the oddfire. I didn't bring the pressure plate and disc, I don't want to jazz it up if I ever change the clutch again.

Finally got around to replacing the non working fuel gauge. I used my only spare, nice to have working again, was way overdue.

Finally did something I've been wanting to do since high school, converted the transfer case to twin stick.

Yesterday I went for a Sunday drive around the city line.
I didn't get near as many pics of the whole trip as I should have.
    Started at the water hole.

Then cruised some terrible uneven roads.
Went to a friends house and played in the woods until it overheated. This pic is a while after the temp needle had gone all the way to the 100. But all is well that ends well.

Same situation as when it overheated at the fall reunion. Luckily said friend is a engineer...
Jeep took 1/2 gal of water and is happy as ever.

IMG_20200302_173143.jpg I finally put the transmission cover back on and mounted the fire extinguisher. I got really lucky that the bracket for the extinguisher happened to line up perfectly with the preexisting holes, and right where I wanted to mount it too. It's an Amerex A620T.

Fired it back up on this beautiful 65 sunny day. A few more victory laps, got through all the gears. Polished the timing up and tuned the carb via vacuum gauge. I'm impressed with how smooth it runs. Just a little Isky 256 single pattern cam. It gives you a slight rumble at idle. Changed the break in oil for Rotella 10w-30, Napa gold filter. The power steering pump still has a pesky slight drip, I'm tempted to put some stop leak in it.
Time to reappropriate the gas tank to the lawn mower and mainline it. The list dwindles...
