Well here it is. My 73 CJ that I purchased in December of 2012. It was leaking fluids everywhere possible from front to rear. I've owned 6 Jeeps thru the years but this is the first with a 350 and an automatic trans. Gonna kinda post up the speed version of this project. The pictures of the body stripped to bare metal are in a camera on the bottom of the Staunton River at Fishtrap.

Not everybody has hardwood flooring. Isn't that sweet?

Lots of holes to weld up-inside and out.

Rattle can paint job that was about 1/4" thick and black hood insert that may have been painted on using a sock tied to a stick.

Normal clean wiring found on every Jeep I have ever purchased.

    Getting started.

    Something old and something new.

Hardwood flooring gone and Upol Raptor sprayed in.

Inside starting to look like something.

Here's my basement paintbooth. Body in primer after being stripped, body work completed, and etching primer.

Still working on paintbooth. Put filter in one end and had fan at entrance door.

It's yellow. A little orange peel at the hinges.

    Fenders got slick.

    It's still yellow.

Still had the 35's on it here. Ended up running 33's.

Should have mounted gauges higher in dash.

Lost the hardwood flooring inside but kept the lumber on the front bumper. Just shaped it up a little.

    33's
    [IMG]

    Nothing special back here.

    Last pic for now.

Wow! And my wife complains about me welding in the garage because it "stinks up the house." I can only imagine what it would be like if I painted in the basement. That is why this site is so incredibly valuable... gives me a chance to show her just how good she really has it:D

Yep, had everything wrapped and taped tight but that was a first and last time.

Looks terrific...I like how the paint laid down on the fenders. The engine bay looks great! (y)
