In my YJ I’ve had great luck with the “probe”...

Only issue ever was after some rock bouncing one of the wires came off the fan, and we’ll.. you know where this story goes...

I’ll take one for the team on this one... stay tuned

In seasonal climates letting the engine warm up is kinda a fact of life...

I have been using this setup since This thread was created I guess. It works fine. I do have problems with temp fluctuations sometimes and it really takes quite a bit of time to get my radiator and alll its coolant up to temperature. It never overheats, but will run about 180~190 in 95 to 100 degree weather even with a 165 thermostat and the 185 fan controller. I didnt spend much money on this setup and it has turned out to be a good value.

I traded a 12 pack of Bud light  for a cool set up
alum Northern radiator welded tube not epoxy 2 large rows , well made alum shroud and 17" Derale 2 speed fan but
with no controller ….. went to try to fit it in SWAY this weekend but the M38A1 grille and V6 housing is way too long …. not enough time to break out the cut off wheel and start fab work .:hellokitty:
