Studebaker flat 6 engine swap

This ^ I think most people who pay for everything to be done are the first to complain about the cost. Do it yourself every time and you'll know how to fix it and take better care of it. Reminds me of Love the Beast, about Eric Bana and his race car.

 

I'm more interested in the semiauto M2 for $3500.

I believe there were quite a few of these Studebaker swaps done back in the late 40s and 50s. Studebakers were common then, and Studebaker used the T-90 in their cars. The one you show has a plate adapter of some kind... don't know the details, but I've seen more than a handful of these swaps around. The Studebaker engines were good engines generally, and this engine would have come from an economy car of its day.

BTW the factory transmission for an MB is a T-84, not a T-86. The T-84 is tiny and often replaced with a T-90.

 

Don't know about Studebaker's, but I have a 41 Nash 600 coupe. The transmission? T84. I'm reasonably certain that transmission wasn't really designed with Jeeps in mind but was something off-the-shelf that served that purpose reasonably well. I think the T90 also ended up in Nash vehicles. Someplace I have a 3 spd out of a 48 and should check to see what that is. A T84 is definitely tiny & light.

 

Back in the late 50's and early 60's the Studebaker 6 was very common conversion for the flat fender jeeps.

there are other engines besides the 225 v-6 or 4.3 v-6 . it' like the gun magazines it's either a 1911 or an ar15.
