Ok, i took the carbs apart and they are clean as a whistle on the inside.....so now I assume its the fuel pressure. I know, from a previous post that a Carter runs at about 3psi but what about a Solex. Someone said "alot less than 3psi" but what is it exactly?

Seems like 2 psi is the number. Probably will need a regulator to get that low

I've heard 1.5 psi also. But I'm wondering why the solex when you have a good Carter?

  6. My jeep came to me with a solex and I could never get it to run just perfect, but then again there wasn't a regulator dropping the pressure down. My opinion; stick with the carter. After rebuilding mine it idles and runs perfect and that's what was designed to be on that motor.
