    I believe the vent windshield was used on exports and was available special order.

    Earlier it was said to be a side marker light, part of the law for 1969 model vehicles.
    I thought it was a reflector. ;)

    What a coincidence. I saw one of these trucks on a car carrier yesterday on the way home from work. I had never seen one before, except in pictures. It was restored, red with white grill and wheels, traveling through Tracy, Ca. on I-205 around 3:00 pm. Anyone know who's it was?

    Back in about '62 my Dad got sucked into paying ($700 if I recall correctly) for one of these surplus Jeeps in a crate. After taking a number of orders from others as well the guy disappeared with all the money. What a disappointment for us, we were all so looking forward to having a Jeep.
