Wow this thread is amazing! To have this vehicle so long, to have created this deep of a history with it, thats the dream!

I hope in many years to have a similar experience with my jeep that you have had with yours. My 73 cj5 was the very first vehicle I ever bought and I hope that some day my son and my father can sit in the same vehicle the day I hand my jeep down to him.

    Thanks for the compliments guys!

Thanks to Garage Gnome for the ECJ-5.com trailride two weeks ago!

I haven't four-wheeled this thing in years. It was a blast!

Towed it up to Massachusetts with our '08 4 Door Rubi. Towed surprisingly well. The Rubi's 4:10 axles, trailer brakes & the Prodigy helped make it possible.

I took a new job & have been driving all over the state. When I am going to a local office, I've been driving Ed.

Had to pass a dumptruck puling a trailer of trees on 78 one morning-- my windshield was down.

Found this on the drivers set one day after working in Cranford

finally got the tapered roller bearing upgrade done on the steering bellcrank.

milled in slots for removing the bearing cups

    assembled

installed with the steering brace in place. I used washers as dust shields for now. I can get seals for it, just didn't want to pay the shipping charges for 2 seals. I just pumped it full of grease & it's been fine since.

it works great. It turns alot easier now, which is most noticeable when parking it/making K-turns. I guess the old needle bearing setup has a bit of drag in it.

if interested in having one bored, PM me.

Kyle asked to drive it one night so we took it down 22W-- he literally could not stop smiling and giggling for hours afterwards :)

I'd be terrified to go that fast with the windshield down, I just take it off.

What are you tying it down with?

nah-- no problem- been doing it for 25+ years.

I use a 1" nylon strap between the windshield & center hood footman loops

Just picked up this beauty eBay. I've been searching for a while and couldn't pass up the deal . Definitely professionally fabricated. Any ideas on who made it/ its vintage?
